David Dastmalchian has been cast as the Polka-Dot Man for Warner Bros.'s The Suicide Squad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Originally created by Sheldon Moldoff and Charles Paris for 1962's Detective Comics #300, the Polka-Dot Man is a Gotham City villain whose principal attributes are the ability to use the dots on his costume as weapons, or to reach through and obtain weapons.
Dastmalchian is well-known to comic book fans, playing Kurt in the Ant-Man movies, Abra Kadabra in The Flash TV show, Dwight Pollard on Fox's Gotham, and Thomas Schiff in The Dark Knight.
Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) are said to be reprising their roles for this sequel by writer/director James Gunn. They are expected to be joined by Idris Elba, in an undisclosed role
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to open in theaters August 5, 2021.
