On the 30th anniversary of Acts of Vengeance, Marvel Comics is channeling the spirit of the classic 1989/90 event for Acts of Evil, a series of annuals which will pit Marvel heroes against villains they don't usually face.

Back in Acts of Vengeance, Marvel's villains teamed up and traded enemies, fighting each others' arch-foes in an attempt to catch them off guard. In Acts of Evil, Ms. Marvel, Venom, and Punisher will square off with enemies that they've never faced - with Marvel hinting at a larger story afoot.

Ms. Marvel will take on Super Skrull in a one-shot from writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Jon Lim, Venom will face Lady Hellbender in a story from Karla Pacheco and Adam Gorham, and Punisher will fight the Brood Queen in a tale from Ryan Cady and Simone Di Meo.

“You know what everyone says is worse than the devil? The devil you don’t know!” teases editor Kathleen Wisneski. “For Acts of Evil, Marvel is pitting our heroes against villains they’ll never see coming, and we’ve lined up creative teams with fresh takes on these characters to make sure our fans are just as blindsided. So readers should steel themselves! And make sure they don’t miss the launch of the next legendary rivalry, or hints at a supervillain’s next masterstroke…”

One of these is billed as Venom Annual #1, despite a Venom Annual #1 coming out back in October 2018.

Here are the solicitations for the one-shots, which are due out in July, along with the covers. More Acts of Evil one-shots are expected in August and September.
