West Coast Avengers has come to an end with this week's #10 from writer Kelly Thompson and artist Moy R.

Thompson penned a letter, printed in the back of the issue, which thanks both her fellow creators and fans for their commitment to the title.

Here's the full text, via West Coast Avengers #10:

"Ah, damn. I really didn’t want this to be the end of this one, guys. It was a grand experiment and I felt like we were doing something really special and different, and I know a lot of you agreed…but misfits are misfits for a reason, I guess…they’re just not as popular as they deserve to be!

I feel like we lived a whole lifetime in these ten issues…and yet it was all far too short… There was so much I wanted us to do - so many adventures, so many jokes, so much yelling at each other, so many cute panels of Jeff to be drawn! But I suppose it’s only fitting that we feel that way…we always want more and nothing is ever quite enough.

A huge thanks to fearless editors Alanna Smith and Tom Brevoort who helped make these knuckleheads on a team together a possibility in the first place and who let me do MOST of the things I wanted to do. Thanks to all of my artists who loved this book so hard right along with me - Stefano Caselli, Daniele Di Nicuolo, Gang Hyuk Lim and Moy R.; and to Tríona Farrell, colorist extraordinaire, who anchored this book (in the good way!) and Joe Caramagna who put up with all of my notes with the patience of a saint. To Carlos Lao our incredible designer, and all of our amazing cover artists. Thank you to all of you for helping me bring these guys to life; I couldn’t have done it without you.

And to the fans…thank you for reading and I’m sorry we couldn’t do more. Maybe next time… I promise we’ll keep trying. I appreciate all of you keeping an open mind when this weird-as-hell team kicked in your door - and especially to those of you who were skeptical but found something to love. Thanks for keeping an open mind - and please remember that for next time. It’s an absolutely glorious feeling to fall in love with something unexpected and we should want to chase that feeling.

Thanks for chasing it with me. I hope we can chase things together again soon. <3
