Representatives for actress Stephanie Czajkowski (Bones, Shameless, Supergirl) have announced she's been cast in the recurring role of Hammerhead on the DC Universe series Doom Patrol, making her first appearance on April 12.
Hammerhead is one of the 64 muliple personalities of team member Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero). In comic books Hammerhead is very aggressive and has superstrength. The actor's representatives describe the live action character as "a born fighter with a bad attitude, Hammerhead solves all of her problems by punching them in the face."
Czajkowski appears just a week later in the FOX 2000 / 20th Century Fox film Breakthrough starring Chrissy Metz. She's also been cast in a live-action CGI-animated film adaption of the classic Jack London novel Call of the Wild for 20th Century Fox.
Her reps add that Czajkowski did not shave her head to play Hammerhead, but her being bald is due to her real-life battle with not one but three types of unrelated cancer. Since first being diagnosed in 2018, she's overcome a thyroid removal, six chemo sessions, a double mastectomy and is in the midst of radiation for she calls her “cancer trifecta.” She blogs about her health journey at ChemoSkinny.com.
Stephanie Czajkowski is represented by DDO Artists Agency and Mitch Clem Management.
