Netflix has announced the cast of its upcoming live-action TV series adaptation of the classic anime Cowboy Bebop on its official Twitter account.
Headlining the cast is Star Trek's John Cho as bounty hunter Spike Spiegel. Here's the official Netflix description of his character: "Haunted by visions of the woman he loved and lost, Julia, Spike’s criminal past slowly catches up to him — putting him and the Bebop crew in the crosshairs of the solar system’s most lethal criminal organization, the Syndicate."
Next up is Luke Cage's Mustafa Shakir as Jet, who is described as follows: "Jet holds tight to his honor and optimism, acting as a father figure to his misfit crew, always seeing the best in his partner, Spike… until it’s too late."
Then there's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Daniella Pineda as Faye, who Netflix describes as "always on the search for the person with the key to her identity. In the meantime, she’ll fake it till she makes it."
Rounding out the main cast is Suburbicon's Alex Hassell as Vicious. Here's his official description: "Once he was Spike’s best friend, now he’s his mortal enemy and is obsessed with taking him down."
No word yet on which very good boy will be playing the crew's lovable corgi, Ein.
No projected premiere date for Cowboy Bebop on Netflix has been announced.
