Cartoon Network's Ben 10 will return to comic books this fall at BOOM! Studios KaBOOM! imprint with a new middle grade OGN titled Ben 10™: Mecha Madness from Rainbow Award-winning writer C.B. Lee and artist Lidan Chen (Ben 10™: The Truth is Out There)

Ben 10™: Mecha Madness will pit Ben 10 and the Tennyson family against a steampunk-inspired villain named Steam Smythe, who commands an army of mechanized enemies.

The story centers around Ben’s cousin Gwen finding one of Smythe’s old mech suits – and the trouble that ensues.

Here’s the official description:

"In Ben 10: Mecha Madness, when Ben’s cousin Gwen discovers a mecha-suit left behind in disrepair by the steampunk villain Steam Smythe, she can’t help but fix it back into working condition and test it out. While Ben may not approve, Gwen’s new suit might be their only chance of stopping the relentless Steam Smythe and his army of mecha-creatures from clashing with innocent civilians as they hunt down their lost machine.

“I'm so excited to share this super fun story with readers! Giant robots, friendships and steampunk shenanigans abound in MECHA MADNESS!” said Lee in a statement. “I loved working with BOOM! Studios and Lidan Chen on this adventure and can't wait to share it with fans of all ages!”

“I am excited to illustrate another Ben 10™graphic novel, especially since both Ben and Gwen Tennyson play very important roles in this story.” added Chen. “I love all the characters in Ben 10™ so I enjoy drawing them. And while drawing steampunk machines is a challenge for me, in the end, it’s totally a blast!”

“Fans can get ready for CB and Lidan to bring the monsters, the science, and the fun with MECHA MADNESS.” said Matthew Levine, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Family has always been one of Ben’s best resources in Ben 10™, after the Omnitrix, of course, and this story is no different with Ben and Gwen working together to defeat the villain and save the day.”

Ben 10: Mecha Madness is due out in November.

Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 was recently greenlit for season four and is expected to premiere globally beginning 2020.
