Marvel Comics has announced Absolute Carnage, a new limited series that focuses on Cletus Kasady, better known as the symbiote serial killer Carnage.

Written by Donny Cates with art by Ryan Stegman, Absolute Carnage sends Kasady on a hunt for everyone who has ever worn a symbiote - and every symbiote itself. Leading up to the story, Carnage back-up features will appear in individual titles, a la "Hunt for Wolverine".

“Cletus Kasady is back, and he is deadlier than he’s ever been,” Cates said in a video announcement. “Absolute Carnage encompasses every single character who has ever worn a symbiote and every symbiote that has ever been, going all the way back to when Peter found the black suit. Going from there to Maximum Carnage to Venomized to everything…everyone is a target.”

Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski calls the story Cates' version of Maximum Carnage, the fan-favorite 90s Spider-Man story that made Carnage one of the wall-crawler's top villains.

The announcement came as part of Marvel's presentation at C2E2 2019's Diamond Retailer Summit.

Absolute Carnage will kick off in April's FCBD: Spider-Man/Venom story, while the first issue is due out in August.
