Ernie Hudson has signed on to play an as-yet-unnamed role in CW's Arrow, according to Deadline. Hudson will reportedly play a four-star General assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), appearing in this season's episode 19, "Spartan."
(No, we don't think it's referring to the WildStorm character Spartan).
According to the Hollywood trade, Hudson's character has "unresolved tension from their past" with Diggle but is asked to help with a Team Arrow mission.
Hudson is best known as Winston Zeddemore from the original Ghostbusters films, and currently stars in Netflix's Grace & Frankie, BET's The Family Business, and Spectrum's upcoming L.A.'s Finest. He has played roles in numerous comic book adaptations in the past ranging from Cyborg in the animated The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians to a major role in the live-action The Crow.
The release date of "Spartan" has not been specified, but is expected during or after April 2019.
