Lea Thompson has been asked to voice an unspecified role in Hulu's Howard the Duck, according to series writer Kevin Smith. In a long Instagram post, Smith relayed his excitement for the series he's co-writing with David Willis, and say sthey're going "Full-Gerber" as in co-creator Steve Gerber.

"I can’t spoil where we’re going, but I can tell you this: I already asked movie-Howard heroine [Lea Thompson] to lend us her vocal Quack Fu in a to-be-revealed-later role! And she did NOT say no!"

Thompson played Beverly Switzler in 1986's Howard the Duck film. Smith has confirmed that Beverly will appear in the Hulu animated series, but disassociated the character from Thompson. Thompson has openly campaigned for Howard the Duck's return as a movie, and even authorized her appearance in a recent issue of a Howard the Duck comic book from Marvel.

Hulu hasn't announced a timetable for Howard the Duck's release.
