Writer Zack Kaplan has been named as the new co-writer of February 20's Nightwing #57 alongside Scott Lobdell. DC doesn't specify if Kaplan will be continuing on the title past this issue - neither DC's website nor Diamond Comic Distributors' lists him for issues #58 and #59.

"In this issue, written by Scott Lobdell and Kaplan, Ric Grayson must come to terms with who he is, and what kind of hero he wants to be...if he wants to be one at all," reads DC's description of the issue. "And while Ric is content to walk away from the mantle, one woman has been hiding in the shadows, waiting to solidify an identity of her identity tied for all eternity to the clown price of crime...enter The Joker's Daughter!"

Kaplan is best known for his Image Comics/Top Cow series Eclipse, and has also written Port of Earth and Lost City Explorers.

"I've been asked if I prefer black or blue," Kaplan tweeted. "The answer is both. I'm excited to suit up."

Kaplan replaces Eric Esquivel, who was removed from the title before DC had officially announced he was working on Nightwing.
