Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt said that the franchise will go on - despite the firing of writer/director James Gunn.
"I promise there’ll be a third movie, I don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like, but I know everyone on board is just eager to give the fans what they want and wrap up a trilogy in a meaningful way," Pratt told Variety on Saturday. "We’re still circling the city of Jericho, I like to say."
Gunn was fired by the Walt Disney Company due to what they described as "offensive attitudes and statements" on Gunn's Twitter feed. Pratt was among a number of the franchise's actor to sign a public letter asking Disney to re-hire the writer/director.
Pre-production on the film was canceled in August by Disney, and a replacement director has not been named.
