Warner Bros. have scheduled DC Super Pets and The Suicide Squad for May 21, 2021 and August 6, 2021 release dates, respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
James Gunn is set to write and is in negotiations to direct the Suicide Squad follow-up, which is now being described as "not being labled a direct sequel but as a relaunch" and sources tells THR that Gunn’s focus is to "take the franchise in a new direction with a mostly all-new cast of characters and actors...very much rooted in Gunn’s vibe."
DC Super Pets will reportedly be based on the Legion of Super-Pets, and be directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine. The duo are animation writers who worked on Wreck-It Ralph and The Lego Batman Movie. THR didn't specify if this would be a live-action or animated project.
These two dates come in tandem with The Batman's June 25, 2021 release date - meaning all three films are reportedly planned to come out in an 11-week window in 2021.
