Massimo Rosi and Stefano Cardoselli's Fish Eye is being developed as a film by What Women Want producers Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo. Framed as Truman Show meets Die Hard by publisher Scout Comics, Fish Eye follows a small-town police detective named Travis who is unknowingly the subject of a reality show about his life. With ratings beginning to slip, the show's producers begin introducing dangerous elements into Travis's life.
"Fish Eye has everything I love in horror: A fresh concept, thrilling scares, and characters that I connect to emotionally," said Matthews. "That is a tall order, and Massimo and Stefano deliver."
Working under their shingle Little Engine Productions, Matthews and Scharbo have produced films such as What Women Want, Missing, and 13 Going on 30. They are also producing Rebel Wilson's Isn't It Romantic, which hits theaters February 14.
"Fish Eye is a gritty but compelling story that is as much about the characters as it is about the explosive and escalating action," said Scout Comics' CCO Tennessee Edwards. "We are excited to work with Gina and Grant to see this story come alive."
Other Scout titles including Henchgirl, The Mall, Long Lost, Heavenly Blues, Smoketown, and Once Our Land have previously been optioned for film or TV developmnent.
