Aquaman is on track to beat The Dark Knight as the highest grossing DC movie of all time - and Warner Bros. is keen to lock in director James Wan for a sequel, according to Deadline.
However, Deadline cites an unnamed spokesman for Wan who says the director is awaiting a suitable script. No further details of any potential deal - or of the possible story for a sequel to the surprise blockbuster - have been reported.
Aquaman has so far earned $1,075,204,074 globally, according to BoxOfficeMojo - just shy $9,735,025 shy of The Dark Knight's worldwide gross of $1,084,939,099 in 2008.
Aquaman is in theaters now.
