Hosea Chanchez has been cast as the super villain Shakedown for the CW's Black Lightning, according to Deadline. Chanchez' purported character - real name Marcus Bishop - is described as a secret ASA operative working with Jennifer Riker's Dr. Helga Jace character.

"Codenamed Shakedown, he possesses the ability to generate vibrations and frequencies at will. Irreverent, bitter and impulsively violent, this ex-Air Force officer killed his superior officer when he was passed over for promotion because of a poor performance review," reads Deadline's description. "At Ft. Leavenworth, he signed with Dr. Jace and embraced his role with the ASA, taking pleasure in producing a high body count on his covert missions."

In comic books, Shakedown is a member of the villainous team the Masters of Disaster. Originally created by Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo for 1984's Batman & The Outsiders #4, the character last appeared in 2011.

Chanchez is best known for his role as Malik Wright on the CW/BET series The Game, and has also appeared in severval BET movies including Let the Church Say Amen and the upcoming Fanatic.
