Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wants to team up with Chris Hemsworth's Thor in a Marvel/Fast & Furious crossover film. The wrestler-turned actor spoke about it on a recent episode of his NBC game show The Titan Games.
"I know why my buddy Chris Hemsworth likes putting on that Thor costume. I mean, there’s real power in wielding a hammer like this," Johnson said. "I got an idea, guys: how about we make a Thor and Fast & Furious movie, you guys want to do that?"
While Johnson overlooked it's an axe now and not a hammer, he even shared the clip on his Twitter page:
Hey I specialize in big, crazy ideas for the world to enjoy..& a movie where it's the God of Thunder @ChrisHemsworth vs that big, brown, bald, tattooed, tequila drinker fella. U guys ready to see that? #ThorHitsTheFloor #BoxOfficeGold I’m calling Kevin Feige to make this happen. pic.twitter.com/8toil0UrwJ— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) January 18, 2019
Back in August 2018, Johnson shared his interest in doing a movie with Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt.
This comes just a few months before New Line Cinema's Shazam! will hit theaters. Although Johnson is no longer slated to debut as Black Adam in the movie, he and longtime agent/producing partner Danny Garcia remain on-board as executive producers. In April 2018, Johnson said he expected the standalone Black Adam film to begin filming in 2019.
That said, Johnson has been relatively silent about Shazam! and his Black Adam role for the past few months.
Johnson is currently filming the Fast & Furious spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw, for a August 2 release.
