Penguin Random House has promoted Ben Applegate to Director of Publishing Services. In this new role, Applegate will oversee the company's publishing with partner companies, including Kodansha's U.S. manga releases.
Applegate joined Penguin Random House in 2012, working his way up from Editor to Senior Editor, and then to Associate Director of Publishing Services. He previously spent five years at Digital Manga as a translator and editor.
After decades of licensing their titles to others for North American publication, Kodansha launched its U.S. division in 2009 with Penguin Random House. The company is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
