Comic books on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform raised $15.29 million in 2018, according to the consulting firm ICO Partners. The $15.3m represents a 27% increase over 2017's $12m in the same category.
1,456 comic book projects were successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2018 - that's up from 1,281 in 2017. 21 of those 2018 projects raised over $100,000 each; 38 raised between $50,000 and $100,000.
According to ICO, the 2018 comic book Kickstarters had a 69.8% successful funding rate.
