Zack Snyder is closing his long-time film shingle, Cruel & Unusual Films, in favor of a new company and identity: the Stone Quarry. Snyder announced the closure and launch on a message posted on his Vero page as well as the Cruel & Unusual Films website.
"New Year. New Identity. After 14 amazing years making groundbreaking entertainment under the Cruel & Unusual Films moniker, we're excited to unveil our new company identity as we move into 2019 and beyond," Snyder writes. "Although Cruel & Unusual Films will always be a proud part of our legacy, our new and exciting future creative endeavors will be mined, chiseled and honed in THE STONE QUARRY."
Cruel & Unusual Films was founded by Snyder, his wife Deborah Snyder, and producing partner Wesley Coller. It hasn't stated if either of those people are involved in Snyder's new shingle.
Snyder is announced to be developing several projects including an adaptation of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead.
