Marvel Entertainment has handed out three more promotions with the new year - two in its comics division, and one in games.
Darren Shan has been prooted from Associate Editor to full Editor, and will be overseeing the company's cosmic titles - including the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy relaunch. Working under X-Men group editor Jordan D. White, Shan will continue working on several X-titles including Mr. & Mrs. X and X-Force. Shan, a graduate of University of Maryland with a degree in Economics, joined Marvel in 2015 after a four year stint at DC.
Long-time Marvel-ite Mark Basso has been promoted to full Editor, as he leads Marvel's new line of Conan titles including this week's Conan the Barbarian. Basso is also editing Old Man Quill, Spider-Man: City at War, and the League of Legends books. Basso joined Marvel in 2007 after earning an English degree from Fairfield University. First working as a Brand Assurance Coordinator, he worked his way up to editing Marvel's Disney Kingdoms, the Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-in books, and various custom projects.
Over in Marvel's Glendale-based Games division, Eric Monacelli has been promoted from Senior Producer to Director of Production. Working under Bill Rosemann, Monacelli will oversee production on Marvel's console games such as the recent Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, and is working on The Avengers Project with Crystal Dynamics, Eidos, and Square Enix. Monacelli joined Marvel Games in 2017 after stints at Infinity Ward, Naughty Dog, Capcom, Atari, and 2K Games.
