DC Comics have informed retailers that Eric M. Esquivel is no longer co-writing March 2019's Nightwing #58.

No, you didn't miss DC's announcement that Esquivel was co-writing the issue - apparently the publisher intended for it to be revealed in today's March 2019 solicitations.

"Please note that Nightwing #58, soliciting in the January DC Previews, will no longer be cowritten by Eric M. Esquivel," reads DC's statement to retailers. "Watch for an announcement of the updated writing credits coming soon."

The publisher did not give a reason for this unusual change, however it follows DC's decision to cancel Esquivel's Border Town series at Vertigo. Series artist Ramon Villalobos and Tamra Bonvillain announced their departure from the title on December 13, citing public allegations of assault against series writer Eric M. Esquivel.

Esquivel has since responded to those allegations on Twitter.
