Image Comics' Copperhead is going on a hiatus - just three issues before its planned finale. Image Comics has canceled orders for the the delayed issues #20 through #22 - as well as the fifth collection. When reached for comment, series co-creator Jay Faerber said that he and co-writer/artist Scott Godlewski are behind schedule but have plans to get back on track.

"We cancelled those outstanding issues of Copperhead because, as our fans are aware, we’re way, way behind schedule," Faerber told Newsarama. "So we felt the only responsible thing to do in this situation was cancel the issues and we’ll resolicit when we can deliver on-time. As for when that might be? I honestly don’t know. No one wants these issues to come out more than me."

Originally launched in 2014 by Faerber and Godlewski, the "Deadwood in space" style series featured sheriff Clara Bronson overseeing the interstellar settlement of Copperhead. Godlewski left the series with issue #10, with Drew Moss enlisted as his replacement. Godlewski ended up returning as artist, and joining Faerber as co-writer, with June 2018's #19 - the last-released issue of the ongiong.
