Lou Ferrigno Jr. has been cast as Hourman in DC Universe's upcoming Stargirl television series, according to TVLine. Ferrigno will reportedly be playing the Rex Tyler version of Hourman, and be recurring throughout the first season.
TVLine describes Ferrigno's character as "a master chemist and adrenaline junkie who as Hourman is a thrill-seeking superhero with the ability to manifest super-strength… for one hour a day. A founding member of the Justice Society of America, Rex/Hourman struggles with balancing his life as a hero and father. Just as I myself do."
Ferrigno currently appears in CBS's S.W.A.T., and previous appeared in NCIS: Los Angeles, Bones, and How I Met Your Mother, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. For comic book fans, he will be forever known as the son of the first live-action Hulk, Lou Ferrigno.
Suit's Patrick J. Adams previously appeared as Hourman in the CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Back in 2013, the CW was reportedly developing an Hourman show.
Stargirl is anticipated to debut in the late summer of 2019 on the DC Universe streaming service.
