A sequel to the upcoming Aquaman film is being discussed at Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Somewhat buried in a profile of the film's Mera, Amber Heard, THR reports that studio chairman Toby Emmerich is confident in the the early estimates for the film's domestic opening week ($65 million) that he has begun talks on a sequel.

The Hollywood trade goes on to say that a writer has not been hired ("yet").

Although this may seem out of turn given the movie hasn't been released yet, Warner Bros. reportedly began talk of a Suicide Squad sequel six months before the first film was released.

Aquaman opens December 7 in China, with North America on December 21.
