30 years after the original vote-by-phone promotion, DC Comics is asking its readers to vote on whether the second Robin, Jason Todd, should live or die again.
Of course, this time, Jason's life isn't actually on the line. The poll at DCUniverse.com asks users whether they believe Jason should have been spared in 1988, or if his murder at the hands of the Joker was the right call. (Sadly, the actual 1-900 numbers used in the original vote are no longer functional).
It seems Jason's popularity has definitely grown in the intervening decades - the choice to reverse history and save Jason has received more than twice the votes as the choice to repeat history and kill him again with 18,441 people voting to save him and only 8,324 voting to kill him so far.
Following his death in comic books, Jason was absent from comic books for nearly 20 years, until he returned to life as a result of 2005's Infinite Crisis. Since then, he's gone on to headline his own title as the lead of the ever-evolving Red Hood: Outlaw.
Jason Todd recently made an appearance on DC Universe's Titans, played by Curran Walters.
