The first image of Disney Play's The Mandalorian has been released by Lucasfilm, along with a slate of directors primed to direct episodes for the first season.
Long-time Star Wars animation veteran Dave Filoni will direct the first episode, followed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). Jon Favreau will write and exececutive produce The Mandalorian, but has not been announced as a director.
Set in the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, The Mandalorian will "follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."
Lucasfilm has not announced a debut date for The Mandalorian on the Disney Play streaming service.
