Matt Bomer has been cast as Larry Trainor, a.k.a. Negative Man, for DC Universe's Doom Patrol. The casting was announced during the Titans panel at New York Comic Con.
Bomer surprised fans with a special video greeting from the Atlanta-based set, exclusively for those in attendance at NYCC.
Bomer will play Trainor in flashback scenes and provide voiceover for Negative Man in the present day scenes. Matthew Zuk will provide the the physical performance of the character in costume.
Likewise, Brendan Frazer will provide the voiceover for Robotman and Cliff Steele in flashback and Riley Shanahan will provide the physical performance of Robotman in costume.
Bomer was at one time in talks to portray Superman in Brett Ratner's aborted 2003 Superman project, Superman: Flyby.
Doom Patrol is scheduled to in 2019 on the DC Universe streaming service.
