X-Men film producer (and Dark Phoenix writer/director) Simon Kinberg says several films from 20th Century Fox's planned X-Men slate are moving forward through the process of Fox's buyout by the Walt Disney Company.
"Gambit has a great script and we’re looking to start that movie early next year," Kinberg told IGN. "Multiple Man, that script’s being worked on right now. We’re just waiting for Drew Goddard to be done with releasing his film that comes out in a few weeks, and then he’ll get started on [the X-Force script] to direct."
Notably, Kinberg didn't mention the status of Fox's planned Shadowcat film from writer Brian Michael Bendis and director Tim Miller.
Disney's purchase of Fox is expected to be completed by the end of 2019, with Disney Chairman Bob Iger saying that the X-Men films will land in the hands of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige for future releases.
