Henry Cavill's agent Dany Garcia has tweeted a statement in response that Cavill will exit the role of Superman in Warner Bros.' DC films, saying "the cape is still in his closet."
"Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet," said Garcia's tweet. "[Warner Bros.] has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today."
Garcia's statement stops short of confirming whether Cavill has any plans to return as Superman, however. And a statement from Warner Bros. (via The Hollywood Reporter) also seems to leave Cavill's future as the Man of Steel up in the air.
"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged," reads WB's statement.
Cavill himself has not responded to the reports.
