Fresh off his run as War Machine, Frank Castle has a new target - and a big name kill under his belt - in writer Matthew Rosenberg and artists Szymon Kudranski and Antonio Fabela’s Punisher #1.
Read on for what Punisher’s up against now – and who his latest high profile victim is.
Spoilers ahead for The Punisher #1.
In Punisher #1, it’s revealed that Baron Zemo and the Mandarin have teamed up with Roxxon in a bid to have the villainous nation of Bagalia recognized by the United Nations, with Zemo as its official leader and Mandarin as Bagalia’s delegate to the U.N.
But just as it seems the organization may actually recognize Bagalia, with Mandarin giving a stirring speech in support of the idea, Punisher arrives and shoots him in the eye (using a literal magic bullet to get past the power of his rings) apparently killing him.
As a manhunt for Frank Castle ensues, it seems Bagalia’s chances of joining the U.N. have been dashed – with Zemo declaring war on Punisher in response.
The story continues in September 26’s Punisher #2.
