In what could be some good news for Dave Bautista, writer/director James Gunn's script may be used for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after all, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Citing unnamed sources close to Disney, the Hollywood trade reports that Gunn's script for the film, completed just days prior to his firing over offensive tweets the filmmaker made prior to working for Disney, may still be the basis of the in-development film.
This comes just after Drax actor Dave Bautista said he'd seek his release from his contract for the film if the script were not used - though THR reports no connection between Bautista's ultimatum and any potential for Gunn's script to still be used.
What's more, THR reports that Gunn could still wind up working on a Marvel film - even if it's writing and directing a different property, according to the trade.
THR reports Disney and Marvel declined their request for comment on the matter.
