Updated August 30: After its fourth weekend in wide theatrical release, Marvel Studios' Ant-Man & The Wasp has earned $394.2 million at the box office, according to Deadline.
Domestically, the sequel has earned $182m - surpassing the 2015 original's $180.2m total domestic gross. In its fourth weekend, Ant-Man & the Wasp ranked sixth domestically - just $2m shy of the debuting Teen Titans Go! to the Movies - and remains showing on an estimated 3,013 screens.
Internationally, Ant-Man & the Wasp has pulled in 212.2m - still a long way to go to beat the original's $338.6m foreign take.
Original Story: Marvel Studios' Ant-Man & The Wasp earned $76 million domestically and $85m internationally in its opening weekend, according to Variety. Totalling $161m, that puts the comedic superhero sequel slightly ahead of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy ($160.7m).
“We are really thrilled about the results,” said Disney's head of domestic distribution Cathleen Taff. “We continue to be amazed by what Kevin Feige and the team do with these films.”
The sequel also sold well ahead of its 2015 original - Ant-Man earned $113.6m in its opening weekend, breaking down to $57m domestically and 56.6m internationally.
Ant-Man & the Wasp has yet to open in major markets including the United Kingdom, Japn, Germany, and India. No Chinese release date has been announced.
Variety reports that Ant-Man & the Wasp's production budget was "around" $162m.
