The Beano's Minnie the Minx is set to lead her own live-action television series, according to Deadline. The Magnificent Misadventures of Minnie is under development from Beano Studios and All3Media/Lime Pictures, with So Awkward's Julie Bower and Danger Mouse's Danielle Ward as writers.
Collaborating with Lime Pictures to bring Beano’s strongest and most rebellious older girl character to a new live action audience is extremely exciting," said Chris Rose, Beano Studios' Director of Development. "Minnie has, and always will be, an inspirational character for a forward-thinking generation."
Millie the Minx was created back in 1953 by Leo Baxendale for the longrunning British comics magazine The Beano.
"Minnie the Minx is the quintessential girl who climbs trees and has been busy entertaining generations of children since her very first appearance in the 1950’s," said Lime Pictures' Managing Director Kate Kittle. "Minnie’s embodiment of girl power remains so relevant to today’s young audiences: we are thrilled to be working with Beano Studios to bring one of their best loved characters and all her rebellious antics to life on screen for a fresh generation of minxes everywhere.”
The development of The Magnificent Misadventures of Minnie follows last year's animated Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed! series, and will be the first The Beano adaptation to live-action television.
