Longtime DC Comics artist Ethan Van Sciver has announced that he is no longer doing work for DC Comics, instead focusing on the revival of his creator-owned series Cyberfrog. The former DC exclusive artist noted this new career direction on Twitter following a fan's question:
Maybe one day, but I want to do CYBERFROG for the next couple of years at least. I want to own something I create. DC is great, was good to me, and I had a good time there, but it’s time to try to get rich. :) https://t.co/fFOahUNgdU— ComicArtistPro Secrets (@EthanVanSciver) June 11, 2018
Van Sciver has raised over $187,000 to date with an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to fund a 48-page Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney OGN - the first of four planned volumes.
Van Sciver has worked predominantly for DC Comics the last 14 years with memorable runs on various Green Lantern and The Flash titles. The last solicited interior work for DC is June 27's Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps #47.
