Newsarama has learned that Marie Javins has been named Group Editor of DC Comics’ Justice League line. Javins takes over with the advent of the "New Justice" era, which includes Justice League, The Flash, and the upcoming Justice League Dark and Justice League Odyssey. Javins' name (and new title) have already begun appearing in some books, including this week's Justice League #1.
Javins replaces Brian Cunningham, who took over the Justice League titles in 2017 following the sudden termination of former group editor Eddie Berganza.
Javins has a long history in comics, first working as a Marvel Comics intern in the late 1980s and eventually became a full editor of various Marvel titles, as well as the Epic line. Javins left the company in 2001 but continued to work as a freelance editor. In June 2014 she joined DC Comics, editing Convergence and then the Hanna-Barbera and WildStorm titles.
