Updated July 19, 2018: Sony Pictures' planned The Crow reboot has officially been removed from the theatrical release schedule, according to Exhibitor Relations. It had been scheduled for release October 11, 2019, but following the departure of lead actor Jason Momoa and director Corin Hardy the project was in doubt.
Original Story: Lead actor Jason Momoa and director Corin Hardy have "formally withdrawn" from Sony Pictures' planned The Crow reboot, according to Deadline.
The reported dual exit is attrributed to creative and financial differences with the film's primary producer/financier Samuel Hadida of Davis Films. The film was reportedly set to begin filming in Budapest in late June/early July.
Deadline adds that Sony is also re-considering its plans to distribute the film.
The Crow was previously announced as debuting in theaters October 11, 2019.
