Former Batman editor Scott Peterson and Batman artist Kelley Jones are reuniting for a new miniseries launching in August called Batman: Kings of Fear. First reported by CBR, the miniseries pits Scarecrow against the Dark Knight in a challenge for the hero to confront his greatest fear.
"His greatest fears, from the origin stories, there’s the falling, there’s the bat in the cave, there’s obviously the fear that a loved one will die,” Peterson told CBR. "But I thought, what’s underneath all that? I suddenly thought, ‘Oh, that’s his greatest fear’ — which I’m not going to tell you right now."
Among other things, Peterson and Jones worked together on the Batman storyarc "Knightfall" in the 1990s.
Batman: Kings of Fear #1 is scheduled for release August 22. Look for DC Comics' full August 2018 solicitations this week on Newsarama.
