Brann Dailor of the metal music group Mastodon is going solo - with a new song inspired by DC Comics' Dark Nights: Metal. The song takes its name from the alt-universe Batman who took the powers of his universe' Flash and renamed himself "the Red Death" and became part of Barbatos' "nightmare Batman." Dailor released the song this week in what DC frames as his "first collaboration" with the publisher.

"Super stoked to be part of this amazing musical collaboration, always been a fan of anything Batman related and DC Comics as a whole, so the chance to be connected to that universe is a dream come true," Dailor said.

You can listen to the song here:

"Red Death" features Dailor on vocals, Tyler Bates (guitar), Mike Elizondo (bass), and Gil Sharone (drums).

Dailor's "Red Death" is part of the the as-yet-unreleased Dark Nights: Metal soundtrack announced by DC in early 2017.

Dailor is currently on a summer tour with Mastodon.
