Updated May 16, 2018 at 11:42 a.m. EST: Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has issued a correction to French film magazine Premiere's previous quote attributed to her, saying that Lando Calrissian would be the subject of the next Star Wars "anthology" film.
"We would love to tell a story about Lando Calrissian one day, but it’s not relevant," read Kennedy's amended comments. "It would be fun to tell the story of Han and Chewie."
Premiere blames a miscommunication between Kennedy and the interviewer for the previous erroneous quote.
Original Story: Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy seems to have confirmed that the next Star Wars "anthology" spin-off will focus on Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian.
"We think that the next spin-off will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian, ” Kathleen told Premiere at the Cannes film festival. "Of course, there are still many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca but Lando will be next."
Glover will debut as Lando in May 25's Solo: A Star Wars Story, which focuses on the adventures of a young Han Solo prior to the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.
