Wizard World, Inc. has posted a $114,383 profit in its latest quarterly report. After three years of back-to-back losses, Wizard World's Q1 2018 statement revealed a mild profit due to an increase in sales revenue and a significant drop in expenses.
"The gross profit percentage increase was attributable to enhanced marketing and show production techniques which allowed the Company to generate more revenue at the Conventions while decreasing the costs of producing the Conventions," stated the company in its Q1 2018 report.
As part of this report, the company also announced it had slightly downgraded its 2018 convention plans - going from a planned 17 conventions this year to 16.
"We currently expect to produce 16 live events during 2018, although that number of conventions may change as we evaluate locations and venues," read the report. "Among the shows being produced in 2018 are shows in new markets, including Boise, Winston Salem, and Montgomery."
