RANDOM HOUSE Launching New Graphic Novel Imprint

Random House Children's Books is launching a new graphic novel imprint called Random House Graphic, with First Second alum Gina Gagliano at the helm. Graphic plans to launch in the fall of 2019 with titles for both children and teenagers, including taking over Random House Children Books' publication of Jeffrey Brown's Lucy & Andy Neanderthal, Babymouse by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm, and Judd Winick's Hilo.

“It is a truly exciting and important time of growth for comics and graphic novels within the kids market, and we see a distinct opportunity to reach even more readers,” said Judith Haut, SVP/Associate Publisher of Random House Children's Books. “We are thrilled to have Gina, with her creativity, expertise, and passion for the medium, at the helm of our new venture.”

Gagliano will serve as Random House Graphic's Publishing Director, and comes to the company after 13 years at First Second, most recently as its Associate Director of Marketing and Publicity.
