Valiant Entertainment's Editor-in-Chief Warren Simons has tweeted out news of his departure from the position.

"Today I am stepping away from my position at Valiant with nothing but the utmost pride and appreciation for what a fantastic experience this journey has been," Simons tweeted. "I want to thank all of the phenomenal creators, staff, and most of all the Valiant fans for seven great years!"

Simons was part of the management team which revived the 1990s Valiant brand in 2011. Coming to Valiant after seven years as a Marvel editor, Simons worked as Valiant's Executive Editor from 2011 to 2014 and was then promoted to Editor-In-Chief.

Joseph Illidge was hired earlier this month in the position of Executive Editor, with Valiant explaining that Illidge and Simons would "work closely" on Valiant publishing in the future.

Neither Simons nor Valiant could be reached for comment.
