In a town hall meeting on the 20th Century Fox studio lot in Los Angeles, 21st Century Fox President Peter Rice spoke with employees about the planned acquisition of the company by the Walt Disney Company, according to Deadline.
While Disney CEO Bob Iger has publically said he expects the acquisition to take a full two years (meaning December 2019), Rice estimated it to be complete by the end of summer 2019.
Disney is set to acquire the 20th Century Fox movie studio, TV studio, and FX networks, along with any physical property, contracts, and rights (such as X-Men and Fantastic Four).
The remaining Fox assets, which Rupert Murdoch has dubbed "New Fox," would include the Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox News Channel, FS1, FS2, and its affiliate Fox stations. Deadline esimtates that the Fox Broadcasting Network (the Fox Channel) gets 70% of its programming from the FOX TV studio (which Disney would own if the acquisition deal goes through).
