Marvel Comics Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski appeared in a video to make the publisher's big announcement, teasing the company's "four tenets" of publishing. He also explained Marvel's "Fresh Start" initiative. Then he dropped the bombshell.
"The first family is returning to Marvel on a monthly basis," said Cebulski. Writer Dan Slott and artist Sara Pichelli will launch the new Fantastic Four title, which features the four original members.
Chip Zdarsky's Marvel 2-In-One ongoing will continue alongside the relaunched Fantastic Four.
"We've been waiting for the right creators to become available for this book," explained Cebulski. "It's been in the works a long time."
"Dan is the biggest fan of the Fantastic Four," he continued. "But he has this uncanny ability to have this encyclopedic memory of almost everything that's ever happened in a Marvel comic, including Fantastic Four from the first issue, and respect the past in the stories but also drive the story forward with new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new approaches to these things that we haven't seen before."

“I started my adventures in the Marvel Universe with a freaked-out Reed Richards, the Watcher and the Silver Surfer,” Slott told the New York Times in a subsequent interview, recalling 1965's debut of Galactus. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”
“I can’t wait to draw a lot of the characters, but there’s one in particular I can’t reveal yet,” added Pichelli. “You will know why they’re my favorite when you read the book!”
The previous volume of Fantastic Four ended in 2015, but the Richards family stuck around until 2016's Secret Wars #9 when they left the Marvel Universe to live in a pocket dimension and rebuild the multiverse.
Since then, Franklin and Valeria Richards have popped up since then, with a cameo at the end of 2017's Marvel Legacy #1. Meanwhile, Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm have reunited to find the Richards family in the ongoing Marvel 2-In-One, which has teased a forthcoming reveal of "The Fate of the Four" since it launched.
Marvel also released a quick teaser animation featuring the FF's iconic "4" logo, seen below:
Fantastic Four #1 is due out on shelves in August.
