In October 2013, IDW Publishing announced an Artist's Edition of Jim Steranko's Nick Furry and Captain America work - but five years later, it's yet to come out. And now the publisher is asking for help.

The key selling point of IDW's Artist's Edition is that the artwork is published straight from the artist's original art boards - but finding that artwork can sometimes be more difficult than expected. In the case of Steranko: Nick Fury & Captain America Artist's Edition, editor Scott Dunbier is still attempting to track down the original art from Steranko's issues of Captain America, Strange Tales, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Tower of Shadows.

Which pages do they need? Well, if you own original Steranko art from those issues but haven't been in contact for IDW... you should. You can contact IDW about this at

Although specifics weren't disclosed, IDW has said that the first Steranko Artist's Edition, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., was a "runaway critical and commercial hit" and led to these plans for a second. Like the first, Steranko himself is designing this Artist's Edition as well.

Due to a processing error, Diamond Comic Distributors recently cancelled the pre-orders on the long-delayed project but IDW is working with them to restore those orders for the planned publication - at this point pegged for June 27, 2018.
