Hulu has passed on an adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's Locke & Key after reviewing a pilot the streaming service ordered back in 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

IDW Entertainment, showrunner Carlton Cuse, and pilot director Andy Muschietti are reportedly holding screenings of the pilot now with other potential networks to pick-up the project.

Hulu's pilot is the second TV adaptation of Locke & Key to be passed over for series after a failed pilot at Fox in 2011. The property then moved to Universal for a feature film. Hulu ordered a pilot when Universal's film never materialized.
