Pacific Rim: Uprising director Steven S. DeKnight cut his teeth as the showrunner of Daredevil season one. Now, he’s got his eyes on another Marvel vigilante.

"I wouldn’t mind taking a crack at Moon Knight at some point,” DeKnight told IGN. "There are so many characters that I love in the Marvel universe.”

There’s one big obstacle standing in the filmmaker’s way – his already packed schedule.

“Really, for me, it would be about schedule,” DeKnight explained, citing other Marvel characters he had considered working on. “My schedule these days, as you imagine, is a little tight. God, you know, when I signed onto Daredevil, I expressed an interest in Iron Fist and the Punisher, which I both loved. I’d love to see Moon Knight get a little bit of love. Great, great character."

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has also expressed interest in creating a Moon Knight film, but no plans for the character have been announced.

Daredevil season 3 is currently in production.
