Publisher Somos Arte has teamed up with DC Comics for Ricanstruction, an anthology benefitting reconstruction efforts in Puerto Rico following 2017's devastating hurricane.
The anthology will feature a story in which DC Comics characters including Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and the Flash will team up with Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez's Puerto Rican superhero La Borinqueña. Other stories will delve into the history and culture of Puerto Rico.
Miranda-Rodriguez himself will author at least one story in the anthology, which also contains work from Gail Simone, Denys Cowan, Yanick Paquette, and John Woodward, as well as actors Rosario Dawson and Rubén Blades, and novelist Esmerelda Santiago.
Ricanstruction is due out on shelves May 23, with 100% of its proceeds going to Puerto Rican hurricane relief.
Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly said Ricanstruction's profits would go to earthquake relief. Ricanstruction is a benefit for the devastation caused to Puerto Rico by 2017's Hurricane Maria. Newsarama apologizes for the error.
