The second Avengers: Infinity War trailer made a big splash with its debut, securing 179 million views in its first 24-hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This makes it the third most watched trailer debut of all time, and the most viewed second trailer for any film. Second trailers typically don't perform as well as the first.
The most viewed trailer debut of all time, with 230 million views in its first 24 hours, was the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer, while last year's remake of It holds the second place spot with 197 million views.
Infinity War also continues to set pre-sales records. THR reports it has become theater chain-giant AMC's biggest-selling superhero movie after 72 hours, more than tripling the record held by Black Panther, which is on its way to becoming Marvel Studios highest-performing film domestically ever. As previously reported, it took just six hours for Infinity War to become Fandango's fastest-selling superhero movie in the first 24 hours.
Avengers: Infinity War is due out in theaters April 27.
