Marvel Studios has announced that the release date for Avengers: Infinity War has been pushed forward to April 27, a full week earlier than its initial May 4 release date.
The studio announced the surprise change through a conversation with star Robert Downey, Jr. on Twitter.
"On a scale of one to infinity, how excited are you to see #InfinityWar on May 4th?" tweeted Marvel, to which Downey responded "Any chance I could see it earlier?"
Marvel was all too happy to oblige, saying "Anything for you, Mr. Stark! How’s April 27th?" Downey then proceded to request "the entire world" be allowed to see it early with him - and again Marvel obliged its star.
"That’s a FANTASTIC idea! Done. Avengers: #InfinityWar in theaters everywhere April 27th."
It's unclear if this means all of the various international releases will be reset to April 27 as well.
Now try not to get hung up on Marvel's emphasis on the word "Fantastic" while you wait for April 27...
